SANTA MONICA, California – April 8, 2016 – The unlikely, but true, story of William Girven is finally being told. Girven is a homeless artist in Santa Monica, CA. His incredible journey to prominence after 5 years of homelessness is an inspiring story everyone will appreciate and love. Entrepreneur, Ralf-Rainer von Albedhyll, launched a Kickstarter campaign to put on an art exhibition for William at CrossCampus – right across the very street where he actually sleeps at night. The campaign goal is to raise $50,000 by May 3, 2016. Funds received will fund the Premiere Art Exhibition & Auction at CrossCampus and produce a short film to document this Unlikely Story.
“We think this is an example of how with some imagination, one can change a life for the better.” ~ Ralf-Rainer von Albedhyll – Entrepreneur
At a glance, William has a clean appearance and no problems with drugs of alcohol. He carries a conversation with a high level of sophistication with a lovely English accent. However, his path to create a collection of abstracts led him to become homeless. Inspired by the Twinsters movie kickstarter campaign Ralf conceived the idea for The Unlikely Story whose highpoint would be an art exhibition and auction for William
to introduce his art to the world and leave the streets behind.
“You don’t make a decision to be an artist. You are born to it, and you just do it. I mean, no matter how far down you go, when you have purpose you never lose your sense of self.” ~ William Girven, Artist
Click here to make a contribution and pre-order tickets to the exhibition. Backers can choose from a number of attractive rewards. Most rewards will be delivered by June 2016. (The movie should be finished by November).
Please keep in mind this is an “all-or-nothing” deal. If the campaign does not reach the funding goal, then the project cannot move forward. So know that any amount given can make a difference. This is also an incredible opportunity to be a part of a special project! Help the campaign reach its goal by sharing this on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks. The more people know about this, the more support the campaign will receive.
