New York – April 8th, 2016 – First year freshman college student Jennifer had a wake up call of a lifetime while at a party on campus during “Red Zone”. It was her first college party and she was full of excitement.  “Alcohol was flowing, music was blaring, it was fun, fun, fun” explains Jennifer who doesn’t want us to reveal her last name.  At the party Jennifer meets John, a college football star senior and he hands her a drink.  Jennifer does not drink alcohol so according to Jennifer, John quickly fetches her a soda.  “I thought he was so hot and he liked me.  Then out of nowhere I felt weird and thought Is My Drink Spiked?  I immediately took the drink John gave me to a lighted area and tested it with Drink Cop.  The test showed my drink was spiked! I grabbed my friends and took off”.  We asked Jennifer if she reported the incident to the college and she stated that she didn’t because she was too embarrassed.  “Drink Cop saved me from being raped” affirmed Jennifer.

Another report of drink drugging on college campus involved a female Syracuse college student Jackie Reilly.  Jackie awoke one morning in a strange room, undressed and disorientated.  She was staring at the same boy who’d poured her the drink the night before. “When I woke up, I didn’t feel right. I was drowsy, unable to move,” she said.  Medical reports from a local hospital later confirmed what Jackie already knew: She’d been raped. According to CNBC, Barbara Booth interview.

Reports are rampant about young freshman girls falling victim to drink spiking on college campuses and parties during Red Zone. More than 50% of sexual assaults are committed on U.S. college campuses during Red Zone, which is the period of time between the beginning of the fall semester and Thanksgiving. In most cases the drinks did not contain alcohol like Jennifer’s incident.  That does not stop the predators from spiking non-alcoholic drinks with GHB (gamma-Hydroxybutyrate acid) or Ketamine.

“Date rape drugs GHB and Ketamine are colorless, odorless, and tasteless to the human senses.  So it’s crucial to test your drink with our lifesaving Drink Cop drug detector test cards. A drink that is laced with GHB or Ketamine can have life altering effects. We want people to know that they have the power to test their drinks with our Drink Cop spiked drink tests”, stated a leading spokesperson from Drink Cop.

Here are some common questions and answers about drink spiking:

Sadly many sexual assaults from drink spiking go unreported because the woman can’t remember what happened or are embarrassed.  Anyone can fall victim to a spiked drink resulting in unconceivable events of rape, robbery, kidnapping, assault, organ theft or even death.

We aim to educate while spreading awareness to college students and parents about the dangers of a spiked drink and the importance of testing your drink with Drink Cop,” added in another spokesperson from Drink Cop.
