Magento, a popular e-commerce platform has always had limited options to allow connections to e-Procurement systems such as Ariba or SciQuest. With Greenwing’s flexible platform Magento users can take advantage of the robust Magento system for their core ecommerce and leave e-Procurement services to Greenwing’s punchout catalog, electronic purchase order and electronic invoice systems.
Greenwing Technology’s system allows any user of Magento to quickly export their entire product catalog including product titles, descriptions, categories and all other product data so it can quickly be imported into Greenwing’s punchout catalog. Product information can be updated as often as every hour to keep data in sync with the main website. Gone are the days of nightly data imports and once-per-day price changes.
“This initiative started as a simple customer request, but has continued with our goal to make e-Procurement and Punchout Catalogs easier for suppliers,” said Greenwing Technology, COO Jeremy Friedman.
To fully embrace e-Procurement technology, if a supplier receives electronic purchase orders via cXML, XML or EDI, all those orders can be converted and placed back into the supplier’s Magento catalog as a normal order. All information including purchase order number, shipping, billing and product line item data is sent to Magento. All manual processes have been removed to make supplier-side e-Procurement the easiest it’s ever been.
Taking the Magento integration even further is allowing electronic invoices (or e-invoices) to be sent directly from the Magento platform. Many suppliers are required to submit e-invoices to their buyers and don’t have a way to transmit them natively from Magento. Greenwing’s plugin allows invoices to be output from Magento and sent to Greenwing’s universal conversion tool that converts to cXML, XML and EDI formats.
