April 26, 2016 – Little Rock, Arkansas, United States –

Compiled from the experiences of and written by Sam Sellers, owner of a large home care agency, ‘Finding Freedom at Home: The Ultimate Guide to Home Care’ answers dozens of questions that both older adults and their families have about the often-confusing and overwhelming home care “jungle”. Sellers steadfastly believes that opting for home care over a nursing home is not only desirable, but boldly empowering. This new volume, hailed “everything you need to know, before you need to know it” by critics, is a definitive guide to freedom in older age.

While assisted living and nursing home care is often appropriate for those with no choice but to move out of their home in older age, Sam Sellers’ experience with thousands of independent seniors has proven in-home care to be the most desirable alternative. He calls it “aging in place” and his new book serves as a definitive guide to surrounding any senior with the support and services they need so that they never have to move out and surrender their freedom.

It’s all laid out in ‘Finding Freedom at Home: The Ultimate Guide to Home Care’.

Synopsis:

Home care for an aging parent is not an alternative to assisted living or nursing home care. To the contrary, Sellers explains that any option other than remaining at home should be viewed as alternatives! Remaining at home is the most desirable option for most people and this book describes how that can not only be possible, but empowering. Finding Freedom at Home will help families who are facing this issue who are often confused about how to navigate the waters of home care. Common questions are: – What type of care is available? – What is appropriate? – Is it feasible for Mom to stay at home? – What about MY home? – How do we pay for home care? – Whom do we even ask? This book answers these questions and more.

“Remaining at home and opting for in-home care is by far the most empowering option for seniors who don’t want to give up their freedom and familiar surroundings – but there’s no denying that navigating the home care waters is both confusing and scary,” explains the author. “As I have grown my home care agency business I have seen the same questions come up thousands of times. I’ve now compiled all of the answers into a single book that will guide any family through building a home care infrastructure that won’t disrupt life or their loved one’s happiness.”

Continuing, “It is chock full of advice, case studies and resources that prove home care is a real possibility for anyone. Those who have used the book to date have reported remarkable results.”

Sellers isn’t exaggerating. Readers have left a string of rave reviews. Bob Blizzard comments, “As a Senior Consultant in the Senior Home health field, I have found that Sam Sellers new book explains to families and seniors what home care is and what is to be expected by reputable agencies, and care givers. It is written in an easy, straightforward manner that helps families, and seniors sort out the complexities of fighting to stay in the home safely. It can be done with a little understanding. The book gives simple outlines and definitions that enable the family and seniors to stay in control of their care by simply understanding the process of executing a sound in-home care plan along with your doctor, care giver, and various support agencies. It helps you understand the various options that you have to remain safe, free, and in control of your life as you gently age. In the end it is a manual that helps you maintain your freedom and dignity during the remaining years of your loved one.”

Caleb D adds, “This book is like an encyclopedia for people looking into home care. It addresses most every issue in a gentle, caring manner. Caring for an aging parent (or spouse) can be challenging, and navigating the rules, regulations and red tape can be overwhelming. Sam Sellers does a masterful job at clarifying the core issues, providing helpful resources and explaining things in language that is easy to understand. This is destined to be THE resource for families investigating home care options. I recommend it without reservation.”
