When Agnes Furey lost her forty-year old daughter Pat and six-year-old grandson Christopher to homicide in 1998 at the hands of Leonard Scovens, who would have thought the two could end up writing a book together to bridge the scars between them? The award-winning author Agnes Furey releases, Wildflowers in the Median: A Restorative Journey into Healing, Justice, and Joy,co-written by Leonard Scovens.

Agnes’ journey to redemption is not easy, yet she goes without a doubt as a proponent of restorative justice, which provides a healing process for both victim and perpetrator. Mary Keller on Goodreads says, “This book is a revolution of the word forgiveness.”

Well-received on Amazon with an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 out of 26 reviewers, Joy S. Jinks commented, “The book is written from the letters between Agnes and Leonard as each tell their own story of heartbreak. It is filled with Agnes’ poetry and Leonard’s prose revealing the fate that intertwined their lives and the agony of their spirits as their stories played out. Their friendship across the years and their pain is fueling the restorative justice movement in the Southeastern United States.”

Wildflowers in the Median earned accolades from her publishing company as Rising Star and Editor’s choice. No wonder, Agnes Furey won First Place in the Writer’s Digest International Self-Published Book.

How an awful experience transformed to a positive life-changing course navigates second chances for a tragic story to touch, inspire and reinvent the meaning of peace and strength.

Nancy O’Farrell on Tallahassee Writers Association concluded, “This small, complete book satisfies the reader in so many ways, not the least of which is the song that it sings in praise of hope.”
