BOSTON, MA – 10 May, 2016 – As the National Park Service marks its Centennial this year, it is moving into the digital age for its next 100 years. Visitors to Everglades National Park can now purchase their entrance passes online, in advance, at no additional cost, with Go City Card’s “Everglades National Park Pass.”

The digital Everglades National Park Pass is delivered instantly via email and can be printed out or displayed on a smart phone for immediate access to the park. By purchasing their pass online, visitors will save time versus paying at the gate, and will no longer need to hold on to a traditional paper pass when visiting the park over multiple days.

The digital pass is available in several different options: seven-day entrance passes are $20 for private vehicles, $15 for a motorcycle, and $8 for pedestrians/cyclists. Annual passes are also available for $40 and provides unlimited visits to the park.

According to Ted Stimpson, Chief Executive Officer at Go City Card, “We are thrilled to partner with Everglades and NPS in providing their visitors the convenience and flexibility of purchasing their passes online.” Stimpson also notes, “We know that a growing number of consumers would rather carry their phone than their wallet. The Go City Card platform enables the Everglades to satisfy this growing demographic with an easy to use, mobile-based entrance pass.”

Everglades joins Colorado National Monument (Colorado), Theodore Roosevelt National Park (North Dakota), San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park (California), Acadia National Park (Maine) and Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks (California) with online entrance pass sales.

Pedro Ramos, superintendent of Everglades National Park, said, “By having the ability to purchase entrance passes at home or on their smart phone in advance of their visit, visitors have an even more convenient way to plan their trip and enter the park.”

About Everglades National Park

Everglades National Park is one of over 400 units in the National Park Service and is the largest subtropical wilderness in the U.S. It protects the southern 20 percent of the original Everglades and is the largest wilderness of any kind east of the Mississippi River. In the United States, it is the largest tropical wilderness and is visited on average by one million people each year. It has been declared an International Biosphere Reserve, a World Heritage Site, and a Wetland of International Importance. While most U.S. national parks preserve unique geographic features, Everglades National Park was the first created to protect a fragile ecosystem. The park is the most significant breeding ground for tropical wading birds in North America, contains the largest mangrove ecosystem in the western hemisphere, is home to 36 threatened or protected species of the Florida panther, the American crocodile, and the West Indian manatee, and supports 350 species of birds, 300 species of fresh and saltwater fish, 40 species of mammals, and 50 species of reptiles.
