Waimea, Hawaii, United States – May 12, 2016 – Waimea Picnic Tours is a one-of-a-kind Waimea Canyonguided tour combined with the experience of a gourmet picnic. The creators launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise $75,000 by July 2016.
Steph Alfaro and her family, developed this gourmet picnic tour from an adventure she had taken to Waimea Canyon, located on the island of Kauai. She had nearly passed out from the fear of heights and hunger while climbing up to the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific”. The state park isvast and can take several hours to cover. To Steph’s surprise, there are no dedicated tours of the area and at best they were offered in a large bus. She also discovered that there were absolutely nopicnic tours offered on island.Thanks to this exploration the idea for a great tourist attraction was born. An accessible and comfortable tour that will be fitting of the average hungry tourist.
Waimea Picnic Tours will be the first ever guided tour of Waimea Canyon and Koke’e State Park with a gourmet picnic served to customers en route.Funds raised will go towards cost of getting established in the island of Kauai, tour van, permits, licenses and supplies for the tour. All steps will be completed to make Waimea Picnic Tours fully operational by September 1, 2016. The beginning of a partnership has been established with Living Foods Market & Cafe in Poipu, Kauai which will most likely be providing the catering for Waimea Picnic Tours. Additional connections have been made to help promote and book tours.
