Lugano, Switzerland – May 17, 2016 – The Biggest Project is a boundless and spontaneous collaboration of over 70 people from around the globe to create the second edition of an amazing art book call, “The biggest man in the world”. The creator, Valentina Mion, launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise Fr 40,000 by June 6, 2016. The funds received will be used for book development, first print run, website and marketing.
Valentina has always been passionate about writing fairy tales for both adults and children. Thanks to Feltrinelli’s, an Italian publishing company founded in 1954 by Giangiacomo Feltrinelli, “ilmiolibro” (my book) program in 2013, she was able to publish the first edition of her book “L’uomopiùgrande del mondo – The biggest man in the world” which she wrote and illustrated. The story is about a brief encounter, a mix of fiction and non-fiction, between two very diverse characters from different worlds that will forever change their perspectives.
The Biggest Project was initiated with Valentina’s desire to create a second volume, special edition of her illustrated tale. Her vision is to actualize the new version of the book to be bigger and extraordinary. The project celebrates cross-cultural teamwork, intended to stimulate the coexistence of differences as an element of richness, and the importance of these distant attributes in accomplishing a common goal.
This unique edition of “The biggest man in the world” book will contain the combined efforts of 32 illustrators and 32 translators from various countries. Without the knowledge of each other’s stories, these talented young artists produced 32 different works of art. To breathe life into the book, professional translation and interpretation of the various stories were completed by 32 voluntary native linguists.
Funds raised will helpget the book into stores around the world. The Biggest Team has been working tirelessly to create a remarkable and comprehensive book that will take readers on an awe-inspiring artistic and linguistic journey.
