With an increased number of teams in the tournament this year, there will now be four groups featuring four teams competing throughout the country. In Group A, the host nation United States, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Paraguay. Group B will feature Brazil, Ecuador, Haiti, and Peru. Group C will feature Mexico, Uruguay, Venezuela, and Jamaica. Group D will include Argentina, Chile, Panama, and Bolivia. On paper, the group that appears to be the most difficult is Group A where three teams have a legitimate chance to winning it all.
Some of the highest ranked nations in the world according to FIFA will travel to some of the most popular venues in the United States for their matches including the Rose Bowl, Levi’s Stadium, Citrus Bowl, Soldier Field, CenturyLink Field, and MetLife Stadium. In the history of this tournament, Uruguay has won the most titles with 15 and has also reached the title match an additional six times. Argentina is only a title behind Uruguay for the most all time, while Brazil has the third most championships with eight. Chile won the 2015 event and will look to advance past Group D in June.
