From June 3 to June 26 of 2016, a once-in-a-lifetime football tournament will occur. The historic Copa America Centenario marks 100 years of men’s international association football with a series of unique matches between CONMEBOL teams and CONCACAF teams. Over the course of 32 matches, the 16 teams will compete in an unprecedented series of venues for the right to claim victory in this unique tournament.

Using Group Rounds, Semifinals, Quarterfinals and a Final match, the teams will compete in ten different cities in the United States. This is the first time the Copa America Tournament has not been played in South America and will instead be played in American stadiums. The Group Rounds feature four groups (A-D) and the teams will play off against one another one time using a round robin format. The winner of each match gets three points, and the first and second place teams in the round then advance to the Quarterfinals that begin in Seattle, WA on June 16th.

Levi’s Stadium is almost brand new, having opened in 2014. It is the home of the San Francisco 49ers and was where Super Bowl 50 was played in February 2016. With a seating capacity of 75,000 it is an ideal venue for the Copa America Centenario games.  This venue has already hosted a plethora of exciting and varied events and during the summer of 2016, this venue will host concerts featuring Beyonce, Kenny Chesney and Coldplay.
