The UK – Peter Cruddas, the former Conservative Party Treasurer and renowned successful banker and businessman in the CMC Markets today, this week made a statement regarding the UK’s move to crackdown on CMC Markets trading. The UK is not the only nation making moves to ensure some type of regulation with CMC markets today. The CMC already welcomed the outcome of an investigation regarding spreadbetting in Germany last month. The FCA announced they will be publishing the official results of the probe later this summer for all to read.

“Anyone who is running a legal, kosher operation stands nothing to lose with a UK investigation,” said Cruddas. “If anyone is nervous, that means they are bending the rules for their own profitability today. A few weeks ago, Cruddas reshuffled CMC’s management, giving chief financial officer Grant Foley they extra job of chief operating office today. When approached about further personnel changes, Cruddas confirmed he was unaware of any other changes at this time.

Bresnahan has recently accepted a supporting role in a television series pilot, The Chronic Adventure Story which will be filmed in Boston later this year. He is also the associate producer of the project.

“I am extremely impressed with the creativity and talents of Eric Bergquist who is writer and director. He has created a new format in the next evolution of media entertainment, and I’m happy to be a small part of the project,” said Bresnahan. It is certain to appeal to fans of the Choose You Own Adventure books because it enables viewers to watch any, or all 24 possible permutations or outcomes.

Bresnahan is also scheduled to play a lead role in Famine, a feature film being made in Ireland and Turkey. Bresnahan will play the role of a priest, and said he is excited to be a part of a film that depicts the horrors of the famine in Ireland. It is based on real events in 1847 when Ottoman (present day Turkey) sent aid to Ireland during the great famine.

“I am alive because one of my great-grand fathers came to America alone on a famine ship at just 15. He was the only member of the family to survive. Being able to be a part of the film Famine is a tremendous honor,” said Bresnahan. Famine is written and directed by Omer Sarikaya.

Bresnahan is also moving forward with plans to produce a feature film about another immigrant ancestor from Ireland. The Duke of Tralee is the story of the conflicts between a young Irish immigrant boy who wanted to be an American baseball player, and his father who wants him to work in a factory alongside him. Bresnahan is the producer and screenwriter of the film, which will be filmed in Utah, Ohio, and Ireland.

“I believe all immigrants, and most of us in the U.S. are here because of immigrants, will be able to relate to the struggles of this family who escaped oppression, faced continuous challenges, and found a way to pursue the American Dream while still holding on to their heritage,” Bresnahan explained.
