Abstract:

In 2015, the value of tire production in the U.S. amounted to $17.2B, jumping by +3.4% against the previous year level. Overall, the U.S. tire output pursued a pronounced growth from 2007 to 2015. The total output figures increased at an average annual rate of +2.3%. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011, when the output figure increased by +25% from the previous year level. In that year, the value of shipments of tire in the United States attained its maximum level of $19.1B. From 2012 to 2015, the tire production yet failed to recover to its maximum levels. 

Passenger car pneumatic tires (casings) was the major product category in the U.S. tire manufacturing, with a share in total output standing near 56% in 2015. Truck and bus (including off-the-highway) pneumatic tires lagged far behing, accounting for only the 24% share. The other related products together comprised approx. 19% of the total output.

OAKLAND, CALIF. – International award-winning firm KTGY Architecture + Planning reports that the firm’s residential designs at two brand new neighborhoods by Toll Brothers in The Cliffs village of Summerlin, Granite Heights and Ironwood, have been selling at a brisk pace. Ironwood opened their models on June 8, 2017, and they have already sold 16 homes. The models at Granite Heights opened a week later, and the team has had 14 sales to date. Toll Brothers Group President Gary Mayo says that interest has been very strong for these contemporary home designs in the newly-selling Cliffs village and expects sales to continue at a good pace based on visitors to the community. 

The Cliffs village is located in the prestigious Summerlin Master Plan in Las Vegas and is named for the picturesque cliffs and ridgeline that form its spectacular backdrop. According to Bill Ramsey, AIA, a principal in KTGY’s Oakland, Calif., office, “The homes at Ironwood and Granite Heights have exquisite views of the valley, The Strip and the Spring Mountains and blend with the environment.”

Both communities are built along a steep hillside that faces approximately 30-degrees away from the Las Vegas Strip. “Providing views and outdoor spaces to enjoy them was a priority when designing these homes,” said Ramsey. “This drove the decision to terrace the homes following the natural contours of the slope as well as rotating the rooms along the rear of the home 30-degrees to orientate the great room, kitchen, loggia and the master bedroom toward The Strip. We also have single-loaded streets so that many homeowners are able to have an unobstructed view.”

The homes feature a collection of single-story open floor plans that offer multiple outdoor spaces including; enclosed front courtyards, covered rear loggias and private outdoor spaces off the master suite. Floor to ceiling windows with ceiling heights ranging between 10-16′ with transom windows in the raised areas let an abundance of natural light in. The project sits at the highest allowable point within The Cliffs which is located at the bottom of Red Rock National Park. This strategic placement means permanent open space with no chance of development behind Ironwood or Granite Heights, Ramsey noted.  

“In addition to the permanent open space abutting the neighborhoods, a Paseos walking path sits between the neighborhoods, connecting both to the Summerlin trail system, future Oak Leaf Park, and the numerous recreational opportunities that the Master Plan is known for,” Mayo added. “The home designs paired with this location and amenities promise to be a success.”

Ironwood offers a total of 77 single-story homes on 65’x125’ lots, each embodying the village’s rugged contemporary design aesthetic and architectural style. Ironwood homes range from 2,516 to 2,823 square feet and are priced from the low $600,000s. Granite Heights features 85 single-story homes on 70’x120’ lots and range from 3,156 to 3,291 square feet with homes priced from the high $700,000s.  

Stretching south of Bishop Gorman High School near the southernmost tip of the community, The Cliffs village is on Hualapai Way near the 215 Beltway for easy access to all points in the valley, including McCarran International Airport, the Strip and Downtown Summerlin, which features fashion, dining, entertainment, Red Rock Resort and the future National Hockey League practice facility for the Vegas Golden Knights.

Coming in second is the media and entertainment sector with their 39.2% growth and in third is the travel and hospitality sector with a 34.4% growth in the same year. This was according to Adobe Insight’s report entitled “Best of the Best JAPAC.”

In a statement released on Wednesday, Becky Tasker, Senior Managing Analyst of Adobe Insights said, “As smartphone adoption levels increase, India is on the verge of becoming a digital-first nation. In times like these, where opportunities for digital success are in abundance, the need to constantly evolve or provide value has become vital for brands.”

It has been reported that differences between industries are getting wider as people are shifting their focus to different industries. Research has shown that more and more people are using the internet to purchase their necessities thus increasing the traffic to retail websites.

The report has also shown that both large and small brands are starting to utilize social media platforms in promoting their propagandas and products. Twitter, Facebook, as well as Instagram are the forefront runners when it comes to marketing choice for retailers.

This shows a glimpse of the market size of online retailers worldwide. The report was compiled by analyzing data from 3,000 websites worldwide, and 10 billion site visits.

Wildcats, Kansas’ famous football team, is happy to hear that their beloved coach Bill Synder’s recovery from throat cancer is going well. Synder shocked people when he announced that he was suffering from the deadly disease throat cancer during an interview last February.

“I’m doing fine,” Snyder said. “The recovery is ongoing, quite obviously. I’m doing fine, getting around fine and don’t have any issues right now, other than trying to prepare for the season.”

After announcing his condition, he also added that he was undergoing therapeutic procedures to battle cancer. Luckily, it was at its early stage. Hence doctors predicted that he would be able to recover from the disease fully.

At his late age of 77, Synder did not let the disease prevent him from coming to the Wildcat’s spring practice last Tuesday. He also expressed that he believed that his condition would not have any considerable effects on the incoming 2017 season.

Synder reportedly gave his piece of mind regarding the decision of Wildcat’s offensive lineman Scott Franz made to tell the public that he is indeed gay. It was already common knowledge among other members of Wildcats since last year. However, Frantz only decided to publicize it a week ago.

“I appreciated our players’ response and the response of our coaches and Scott’s response as well to his teammates,” Snyder said. “Their thought was, ‘OK, fine, let’s move on.’ They cared about him, he cared about his teammates, and the coaches cared about him and he cared about the coaches, so it wasn’t a major issue.”

“Yes, I had some uncertainty about it at that particular point in time and the impact,” Snyder added. “We talked about the impact it might have — not on his teammates in regards to how they felt — but the response from outside, the social media response, the response of the fan base, the response of the faculty and administration and the world, so to speak, and cautioning him that there could be some issues because of that.”

“We talked about it for an extensive period of time. What impressed me so much and allowed me to contact [ESPN reporter] Holly [Rowe] about it was the fact that he wanted to do it for the right reasons. … What he wanted to do was to help others, which was important to me. He wanted the opportunity to feel free to live his life, as he would like to do so and he felt hindered prior to that [announcement] being able to do so. I appreciated those things, because I thought they were meaningful. … I think the response has been excellent up to this point in time. I’m proud of him and I’m proud of our players and how they handled it.”

Doctor’s primarily blamed Synder’s lifestyle for his disease. Synder has been reported to skip meals because he found eating too time-consuming even going to the point of asking his doctors to find a way for him to skip meals. Earlier stages of throat cancer have up to 60 percent survivability.

Los Angeles, CA – July 28th, 2017 – TriCoast Entertainment is proud to invite you to the weeklong premiere screening of Adam Orton’s newest romantic sci-fi film, “AMELIA 2.0” at the Laemmle’s Beverly Hills Music Hall, August 11 – August 18.  

Produced in collaboration by MORE Productions and WeatherVane Productions, AMELIA 2.0 is a futuristic, female suspense film that captures Carter Summerland’s extreme grief after his wife suffers from a sudden aneurysm.

As Carter watches his wife slowly die, he becomes desperate when he agrees to an experimental program that specializes in modern day technology that can control and extend human life through robotics.

But, when Wesley Enterprises implants Amelia’s decaying mind into a new body, she awakes to face the public debate over human’s relationship with technology. As she continues her internal battle with her human past and her seemingly robotic future, she can’t help but wonder what characteristics define humanity.  

The film stars well-known actors, such as Chris Ellis (“The Dark Knight Rises”, “Apollo 13”), Debra Wilson (“Avatar”), Eddie Jemison (“Oceans 11,13”, “War Dogs”) and Kate Vernon (“Malcolm X”, “The Last Song”, “Pretty in Pink”).

Guests will get an exclusive Q&A with director Adam Orton, and actor, Ed Begley, Jr. The prominent Hollywood actor, famous for “Ghostbusters” and “Pineapple Express”, will explore AMELIA 2.0 and its sci-fi world, with additional information about the film world.

New York City – 28 Jul, 2017 – The iconic artist and filmmaker who many have been calling this generation’s Andy Warhol has a sold out solo show at the SepiaEYE Gallery in Chelsea area of New York City that has been drawing large crowds of enthusiastic fans to meet Marko Stout and see his latest work. Many of the artist’s subjects in current exhibition appear in a routine manner that confuses and alienates at the same time- the myths of everyday life. A myth where the desires and fates of the individual disappear into the mass – making the artist very popular with today’s millennial generation.

His current exhibition includes a series of vibrant aluminum prints and film projections- that typify Stout’s greatest works, where the female subjects appear drawn inwardly to melancholy with a look that is spiritually broken. Stout selects subjects are rooted in everyday life and mirror contemporary urban reality. No doubt Stout is putting himself and the viewer on the same level as the models and subjects he observes. Marko Stout’s works seem to mirror the changes in todays’ society and their influence on personality with the individual disappearing into the mass- while exposing the myths of everyday life. 

It’s Marko Stout’s treatment of his downtown New York subjects, his versatility and extreme popularity with today’s youth that have media giants like the Paper Magazine, Chicago Tribune, Artworld Today and others labeling Stout has the next Andy Warhol and comparing his style to Jeff Koons, Milo Morie and even Roy Lichtenstein. In fact, the Huffington Post ran an article last spring entitled, “Is Marko Stout the Next Andy Warhol?”.

A group of five non profit organizations has stated that the survival rates for patients afflicted with liver, pancreatic, lung, brain, stomach, and oesophageal are currently “unacceptable”.

According to them, patients that have these types of cancer have only a meager 14 percent chance of surviving beyond five years, compared to a high 64 percent for other cancer types such as prostate, bowel, and breast cancer.

According to the Less Survivable Cancers Taskforce, their report also shows that this large difference can be attributed to the lack of research on the said diseases. Other major factors that can be blamed are late diagnosis, a lack of treatment options, and low awareness of symptoms.

Sadly, it has been found out that only 17% of UK’s cancer research funding goes to the research of these deadlier forms. While the other 83 percent of the funds are given to the 11 other more survivable types of cancer.

The Less Survivable Cancers Taskforce is composed on the Pancreatic Cancer UK, the Brain Tumour Charity, the British Liver Trust, Action Against Heartburn and Core. The task force was formally launched last July 18 in Westminster, UK.

 “While over the past 40 years the five-year survival rate has almost doubled for breast cancer and prostate cancer, these six less survivable cancers are more or less as deadly as they were in the 1970s,” said John Baron, MP for Basildon and Billericay and chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group. Baron expressed his alarm regarding the findings by describing it as “very concerning”.

The Pancreatic Cancer UK reportedly warned that unless new diagnosis methods are made the death rates of pancreatic cancer will just keep on rising. The disease could soon overtake breast cancer which is currently the fourth deadliest form of cancer.

Pancreatic cancer has been deemed as a silent killer as its early detection is incredibly difficult. It is estimated to take as much as 11,000 lives each year by 2026 unless something is done about it. Data shows that 8,817 individuals have succumbed to the disease in 2014 alone.

Statistics have shown that 51 percent or 70,000 incidences of all cancer-related deaths can be attributed to the six deadliest forms of cancers.
