70’s Mob Movie stars Paul Sorvino and Troy Garity of HBO’s “Ballers”; Director Federico Castelluccio among the band of “Sopranos” Alum featured

Los Angeles, CA – June 9, 2016 – Set in 1973 Williamsburg Brooklyn, THE BROOKLYN BANKER, written by Michael Ricigliano Jr., weaves the story of Santo Bastucci (Troy Garity), a neighborhood banker with two rare gifts – one for memorizing numbers, the other for sidestepping a career saturated in underworld crime that most of his childhood friends chose.  A family man who purposefully designed a life “above board,” Santo is unwittingly thrust into the crosshairs of an aging wiseguy’s bid for power.   He is caught between the loyalty he has for his cagey father-in-law (Paul Sorvino), the safety of his wife and family, and heeding the cautionary advice from his street-wise uncle, the pastor of their local church and resident backbone of the neighborhood.

Based on the award winning short, Lily of the Feast, the feature length version features Sorvino reprising his role as Benny, Santo’s father-in-law.  The veteran actor has appeared in a variety of film, TV and theatrical productions over the last four decades. Troy Garity of HBO’s Ballers received a Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal of a young soldier who pays the price for falling in love with a transsexual night-club performer in the television movie Soldier’s Girl. He is also known for his role as Isaac Rosenberg in all three of the Barbershop films, starring Ice Cube.

Rounding out the cast is David Proval (HBO’s Vinyl, The Shawshank Redemption, The Sopranos), Arthur Nascarella (Showtime’s Billions, Cop Land, The Bronx is Burning), Elizabeth Masucci (TNT’s Public Morals, Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer), and John Bedford Lloyd (The Bourne Supremacy, CBS’s The Good Wife).

Federico Castelluccio directs from Ricigliano, Jr’s script.  Castelluccio is best known as hitman Furio Giunta, Carmela’s forbidden heartthrob in HBO’s The Sopranos.  TJ Sansone, Craig Cohen (Puncture, Beware The Gonzo) and Jeff Schneider produced.

THE BROOKLYN BANKER will be released by TriCoast Entertainment on August 5, and was shot entirely on location in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
